De Zeemond

In opdracht van de Ambassade van de Noordzee maakte ik dit interactieve sculptuur: de Zeemond, 2019. Een sculptuur om naar de stem van de zee te luisteren, de vorm is geïnspireerd op een otoliet, het gehoorbotje van een vis.

Tijdens het eerste grote evenement van de Ambassade van de Noordzee, was de Zeemond te vinden op het strand van Scheveningen. De komende jaren zal de Zeemond mee reizen met de Ambassade van de Noordzee en op verschillende plekken in de branding van de Noordzee te vinden zijn. Hier boven zie je hoe dichter des vaderlands Tsead Bruinja op 11 juli 2019 de Zeemond doopt met een gedicht.

Commissioned by the Embassy of the North Sea I made this interactive sculpture: the Seamouth, 2019. A sculpture to listen to the voice of the sea, the shape is inspired by the shape of an otolith, the ear bone of a fish.

During the first major event of the Embassy of the North Sea, the Seamouth could be found on the beach of Scheveningen. In the coming years the Seamouth will travel with the Embassy of the North Sea and can be found in various places in the surf of the North Sea. Above you see the Dutch poet Tsead Bruinja on July 11, 2019 baptizing the Zeemond with a poem.
